Privacy Policy

Introduction

Push Note ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Push Note Android app and the Push Note Chrome extension (together, the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Push Note is provided by Cafer Mert Ceyhan (Penguen Labs), who is the data controller for the processing described in this policy. Contact details are in section 11.

Key Point: Push Note is designed with privacy by design. Notes and habit data you create in the Android app stay on your device. The one exception is the AI checklist feature, which sends what you give it to an AI service only when you tap Generate, and which is described in section 5. Notes you send from the Chrome extension are end-to-end encrypted and can only be read by your paired phone.

1. Information We Collect

2. How We Use Your Information

3. Data Storage and Security

Notes and habit data created in the Android app are stored locally on your device only and are not transmitted to remote servers, except for what you choose to send to the AI checklist feature as described in section 5.

Notes sent from the Chrome extension are end-to-end encrypted: the contents are scrambled in your browser before transmission, and only your paired phone holds the key required to decrypt them. Encrypted notes are retained on our backend only long enough to deliver them to your phone.

We implement industry-standard security practices to protect any data processed by the App.

Data Retention: Anonymous analytics data is retained according to Firebase's data retention policies (typically 14 months). Local notes and habits data on your Android device remain on your device until you delete the app or clear the data. The Chrome extension's pairing record stays in your browser until you remove the extension or unpair the device.

4. Third-Party Services

No personal data is shared with these third parties beyond anonymous analytics events and subscription data required for billing. We do not sell or rent your data to any third parties.

5. AI Checklists

If you have Pro, Push Note can turn text you paste or a photo you choose into a draft checklist. This is the only feature in the Android app that sends the content of a note off your device, and it runs only at the moment you tap Generate. If you never tap it, nothing you write in Push Note ever leaves your phone.

What is sent. The text you typed or pasted, and the photo you picked, if you picked one. That is all. No name, no email, no account, no device identifier and no location travel with the request, because we hold none of them. Photos are resized on your phone before they are sent.

Where it goes. To Google's Gemini API, through Firebase AI Logic, which produces the draft list and returns it. Google processes this on our behalf, on its servers, including in the United States.

How long it is kept. We never receive it. The text and the photo go from your phone to Google and the draft comes back; they do not pass through any server of ours, and the app does not save the photo you picked. Google does not use what you send to train or improve its models, and keeps it for a limited period only to detect abuse of its own service.

What we record. Numbers, and no text. How many items the model produced, how many you kept, how many you edited, whether you used a photo, and the size of the request. Nothing in this can reproduce what you wrote or show us your picture.

What you should not send. Please avoid pasting or photographing sensitive information about yourself or other people, including health, financial and identity details. Please also only send content you have the right to send. The app repeats this reminder on screen above the input.

Drafts are yours to approve. Nothing the model returns is saved until you review it and tap Save, and you can edit or delete any line before you do.

Legal basis. Where the GDPR applies, we process this content to perform the contract you entered into when you subscribed to Pro (Article 6(1)(b)).

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child without parental consent, we will take steps to delete such information.

7. Your Rights

We hold no account for you and no profile that names you, so for most of your data there is nothing for us to look up, export or delete on request: notes and habits live on your device and are yours to delete there, and AI checklist input is not retained by us at all. Where we do process data that can count as personal, such as anonymous analytics identifiers and crash reports, you may contact us at the address in section 11 to exercise your rights of access, correction, deletion, objection and portability, and we will respond within 30 days.

How to Opt Out: You can opt out of anonymous analytics by uninstalling the Android app. Your local Android data (notes, habits) can be cleared by uninstalling the app or clearing app data in your device settings. Your Chrome extension pairing can be removed by uninstalling the extension or unpairing the device from the Android app.

EU/EEA and UK Residents: Under GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you have concerns about our data practices.

California Residents: Under CCPA, you have rights regarding personal information. You may exercise them by contacting us at the address in section 11.

9. International Data Transfers

Data we process, including anonymous analytics, encrypted note payloads in transit, and the text or photo you submit to the AI checklist feature, may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States, through third-party providers like Google and RevenueCat. These transfers are conducted in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect changes in our practices or applicable laws. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy.

Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
